During the final year of his 2019-2022 residency at UVM Medical Center, Dr. Everett was named Chief Resident. He also served as a Research Assistant in the Departments of Bariatric Surgery and Anesthesiology during his medical studies. While in school, Dr. Everett was chosen for membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), a society that recognizes students, residents, and faculty who are exemplars of compassionate patient care. GHHS members are peer nominated and the ones that other medical professionals say they want taking care of their own family.

Dr. Everett grew up in southern Vermont and has returned to practice family medicine here and to be a member of small-town Vermont again. He lives with his wife and daughter and enjoys spending time outdoors with them in all of Vermont’s seasons.

“I chose to pursue a career in family medicine while working with Dr. Shafer at Grace Cottage during my fourth year of medical school. Grace Cottage has always represented the best of family medicine, in my mind. I feel incredibly grateful and humbled to be returning here to continue my career as a physician.”
