Before joining the Grace Cottage Emergency Department staff in 2022, Book served as a Physician Assistant in EDs in Michigan for 24 years, first at Kalkaska Memorial Hospital in Kalkaska, and then at Munson-Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. She also directed a children’s ski program with Michigan schools for 24 years.

Book loves to hike, snowboard, run, and dance. She also enjoys cooking, reading, playing the piano, and spending time with her kids.

Grace Cottage has allowed me to breathe and serve others better. Here’s a favorite quote from Bill Plotkin: “You need to find what is genuinely yours to offer the world before you can make it a better place. The offering of that gift – your true self – is the most you can do to love and serve the world. It is all the world needs.”
