Every July for the past 16 years (with the exception of 2020), road trippers known as West River Westies have gathered with their VW campers for a fun-filled weekend of socializing, river tubing, and bicycling at Bald Mountain Campground in Townshend. At their annual raffles, these members of LiMBO (Late Model Bus Organization, International) raise money for Grace Cottage.

Volunteers Inspire a New Way to Give

Tim Dillistin, of Sterling, VA, shared the following story when sending in a donation to Grace Cottage: “Every January, 27 members of our extended family get together in Virginia for the National Football League’s playoff weekend. This year we couldn’t meet in person, but we still had our usual football pool, and I ended up with 10 vacant slots.” Read on to find out what happened next.

Bequest Benefits Endowment

Mary Moberly of Townshend let Grace Cottage know many years ago that her estate planning included the small hospital that she cherished so much. Mary died peacefully in Grace Cottage’s Hospice Suite on November 1, 2020, with her dog, Bella, and two of her dearest friends by her side.

Priscilla Kay Smith, a bank teller and auditor who had served in the Coast Guard WAVES during WWII, moved to Vermont in 1946. She left a bequest to Grace Cottage when she died in 2019.
