Today, “Giving Tuesday,” we ask for your help in raising the funds necessary for the purchase of two pieces of vital medical equipment — a new microscope for the Laboratory and a new AED unit for Grace Cottage Family Health. With a combined total cost of $2,467, just 100 gifts of $25, or 50 gifts of $50, will get us to our goal! Donate Now!
According to Lab Supervisor Tanya Noyes, the chosen ACCU-SCOPE® 3000-LED Microscope delivers outstanding optical performance, value and resolution. It will be put to good use daily to identify cells and casts in urine. This aids in the diagnosis of kidney disorders, hematuria, UTIs and more.
The new AED unit is an important addition to our Grace Cottage Family Health clinic. While we do have a few such units on the hospital campus, as Chief Medical Officer Dr. Chris Schmidt explains, “If a patient suffers an emergent life threatening heart rhythm disturbance, every minute counts! AEDs can immediately reverse such arrhythmias if applied quickly.” The new unit will be mounted in a central, convenient location in the clinic.
Until midnight December 1, all contributions made online, over the phone, or in person will go towards the purchase of these vital pieces of medical equipment. Anything raised beyond will go towards our Patient Care Fund.
