Equity Team

The mission of Grace Cottage’s Equity Team is to actively foster a healthcare environment that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion for all patients and staff alike. 

Committed to reducing barriers and championing social justice through action, collaboration, and education, this Team aims to ensure that every individual who comes to Grace Cottage receives equitable and compassionate healthcare.

The Equity Team has been working since 2019 to listen to the community and to take action, so that any changes made in how we offer healthcare will truly match the needs of all of our patients and staff.

Grace Cottage’s Equity Team includes Grace Cottage medical providers, nurses, support staff, and local community members Scott Heller and Dave King of Frog Meadow Farm. Thanks to the leadership of this team, Grace Cottage has earned top scores in the last two rounds of the national Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index. 

Grace Cottage’s equity work has received other public recognition. It was featured in the Brattleboro Reformer on Oct. 10, 2023, and in Vermont Business Magazine’s June 2023 issue.

Grace Cottage is very proud to be a statewide leader in this work.
