To satisfy the demand for primary care providers in the region, and to accommodate more same-day appointments, Grace Cottage Family Health is pleased to have Jim Picone join its Townshend practice.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Picone received his Physician Assistant degree in 1990 at the University of Iowa. He is experienced in orthopedics, emergency and urgent care. He has worked most recently at the Valley Regional Hospital Orthopedic Group in Claremont, NH. Prior to that, he has worked at Green Mountain Orthopedic Surgery, Central Vermont Medical Center, University of Vermont Medical Center, and Clear Choice MD.
“There is something special about a small hospital in a community that appreciates it and the people who work here,” said Picone. “As hospitals affiliate with larger entities, they risk losing the personal touch that Grace Cottage is known for. I value getting to know the person, and solving the particular challenges that may accompany the individual. I believe that family practice is the most rewarding way to accomplish this.”
Picone and his wife have relocated from Calais, VT. They enjoy hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with their two dogs. Picone plays the fiddle and attends art workshops during his free time.
