Fall Wellness Classes at Grace Cottage

Making time to exercise and participate in healthy activities is vitally important to your health! Benefits may include improved muscle tone, better balance, increased confidence, reduced stress, better sleep, more energy, emotional relief, and a happier YOU!

Grace Cottage’s Community Wellness Center offers a variety of opportunities. If you are unsure about what class is right for you, ask your medical provider.

For the following classes, please call to pre-register before the first class (802-365-3649 unless otherwise noted). For yoga classes, “walk-ins” are welcome. Most events are held at the Grace Cottage Community Wellness Center, 133 Grafton Road, Townshend. More information: www.gracecottage.org.

Yoga: Starts Sept 12 or 15, Tues 4:30-6:00 or Fridays 3:30—5:00. An invigorating yet gentle yoga class that focuses on breath work and poses. $5/class. Walk-ins welcome.

Strong Bones: Ongoing: M/W 10:30-11:30 or 5-6; T/TH: 8:45-9:45 or 10:30-11:30. A popular strength and balance class for older adults. Most participants attend 2x/week. $3/class.

Tai Chi for Fall Prevention: Level 1 Beginner’s Class starts Sept 12, 1:30-2:30. Level 2 on-going class, Tuesdays 12:30-1:30. Balance and flexibility training for those with physical limitations. Free. Pre-register at 365-4115 x108.

Weight Loss Support Group: 2nd Tues. of every month. 10:30-12:00. Led by Health Coach Liz Harrison. Free. Pre-register at 365-3766.

Living Alone Support Group: 3rd Wed. of every month. 10:15-11:45. Focused on the challenges of living alone, led by SASH coordinator Alicia Moyer. Free. Pre-register at 365-3753.

Forks Over Knives: Free movie showing every Tuesday 3:30-5:00 by request; pre-registration required; call 365-3766. A compelling documentary about the benefits of a plant-based diet.

Healthy Cooking Class: 2nd Wed., Sept. and October, 1:00-2:30. Learn how to prepare nutritious, delicious meals, using fresh local ingredients, on a limited budget. West Townshend Community Kitchen. Pre-register at 365-3766.

Healthy Aging Conference, Tues/Wed, Nov 7-8, at the Grafton Inn. Take charge of your health, your security, and perhaps even your longevity.
