Professional:
Nancy Castner’s professional nursing career began at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, working on the adolescent, pulmonary, and hematology inpatient units. Throughout her 25 years as a registered nurse, she has continued to care for pediatric and adult patients in a variety of settings, including pediatric emergency & trauma, pediatric and maternity home care, as a certified school nurse, and in rural primary health care.

While working as a school nurse, Castner felt pulled to continue her education, leading to her obtaining her MSN in Nursing Education, and most recently, her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with certification as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Vermont.

Castner loves being a nurse and has a strong desire to care for those impacted by chronic conditions. She is passionate about caring for individuals across the lifespan, taking into consideration how their lived experiences impact their health and wellbeing.

Personal:
Castner enjoys spending time traveling, gardening, reading, kayaking, hiking, and skiing. She lives in Ludlow with her partner, Alex, and is the proud mother of three grown sons.
