TOWNSHEND – The Board of Trustees of Grace Cottage Hospital/Carlos G. Otis Health Care Center has announced the appointment of Roger Allbee to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Administrator, effective immediately. Allbee, who has been the Interim CEO since January, 2014, will oversee the operations of Grace Cottage Hospital/Carlos G. Otis Health Care Center.
A resident of Townshend, Allbee has been on the Grace Cottage Hospital Board of Trustees since 2003 and on the Grace Cottage Foundation Board of Directors for the past seven years. He was Vermont’s Secretary of Agriculture, Food, and Markets from 2007 to 2011 under Governor Jim Douglas; prior to that, he was Vermont’s Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Vermont and a Master of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts.

The Board of Trustees also announced that Jeanne Fortier is now the Chief Operating Officer at Grace Cottage Hospital; she has been serving as Interim COO. A graduate of Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, with a BSN, Fortier received her MBA from Boston University’s Graduate School of Management, with a concentration in Health Care Management. Prior to coming to Grace Cottage, Fortier worked at Mount Desert Island Hospital in Bar Harbor, Maine, where she was Vice President of Patient Care Services. She came to Grace Cottage Hospital in 2008 as Chief Nursing Officer.
