What is Wellness?
Wellness is a lifestyle. It is a way of living that encourages good physical and mental health. Grace Cottage offers a variety of wellness programs that will enhance your life.
Ongoing classes include:
Strong Bones. Strong Bones involves a series of strength training exercises using both hand and leg weights, stretching exercises to increase flexibility, and balance exercises. Participants increase intensity of the exercise by adding weights as they get stronger. Best of all, we have FUN!
Yoga. Traditional Viniyoga flow classes include standing and seated postures appropriate for all levels, including beginners. Viniyoga has a much less rigorous pace that Ashtanga or Power yoga. Viniyoga emphasizes flow – motions in and out of a posture along with the breath. These classes will help tone, stretch, and strengthen the body and mind. You will leave feeling calm and relaxed.
Dancing Meditation. Led by Patricia Burleson, group members dance to music with lively percussion, a variety of exotic instruments, and voice. Participants may dance barefoot or with clean, soft-soled shoes. There are no steps to learn. The music lasts about 45 minutes and is followed by a few minutes to sit in the quiet.
Scheduled offerings can include additional classes like Tai Chi and QiGong, support groups, and informative workshops for things like Senior Driver Safety.
