We are delighted to be administering first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for anyone age 75 and older who lives, works, or accesses primary care in Vermont. We are providing second doses for group 1A today (healthcare providers and first-responders), and we begin vaccinating the general public, age 75 and up, tomorrow. If you know of someone in this age category in our area who hasn’t yet received their first dose, please encourage them to call 855-722-7878 or go to the Vermont Department of Health’s website to schedule an appointment at Grace Cottage.

Grace Cottage PA Elected to National Board

Grace Cottage Emergency Department Physician Assistant (PA) Joshua Rosenblum has been elected to the national Board of Directors of the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (SEMPA). Rosenblum is a Senior Fellow of SEMPA. He was elected to the board along with one other PA from a field of six candidates. His term starts in May 2021. As a board member, he hopes to provide a voice for Rural Emergency Medicine PAs.

Townshend VeggieVanGo Switches Days in 2021

The “VeggieVanGo” free food event, hosted by Grace Cottage Family Health & Hospital and organized by the Vermont Foodbank, will switch to a new schedule in 2021. The Townshend distribution will now take place on the second Wednesday of the month, at the same time, noon to 1 p.m., and the same location, the lower parking lot of Leland & Gray Middle High School. VeggieVanGo dates for the first three months of 2021 are January 13, February 10, and March 10.

CEO Coronavirus Update – December 14, 2020

The fact that the first COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States today (at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, and then elsewhere) is excellent news. However, we still have a long way to go before the vast majority of people are vaccinated and the virus is largely defeated, and we must continue to take all of the precautions that we all know so well now, including “masks on faces, six-foot spaces, uncrowded places.”

We’ve been receiving many questions at Grace Cottage, and I want to share the answers that we have, as of now, with all of you. As you know, things change rapidly these days, and we will be keeping you updated.

VeggieVanGo Free Food Distribution

Grace Cottage Hospital hosts the Vermont Foodbank’s “VeggieVanGo” free food distribution program in Townshend at least once a month. Upcoming dates are November 30, 2020 and December 17, 2020 from noon to 1pm at the lower parking lot at Leland and Gray High School.
