NURSE MANAGER
Inpatient Unit & Emergency Department

Job Summary: Oversees the day to day operations of the Inpatient Care Unit and Emergency Department. Provides for first line management and supervision of the Nursing Staff, including the Unit Secretaries. Works with the Chief Nursing Officer to establish and implement Nursing Department policies and procedures. Ensures adequate and appropriate staffing levels and skill mix on a shift by shift basis. Provides direct clinical support for patient care activities as required and/or requested. Actively involved at the department head level to attain the goals and objectives of the organization. Promotes and facilitates inter-departmental cooperation and interactions to enhance patient care. Implements the Performance Improvement Program at the unit level, ensuring compliance with established indicators. Sits on various Hospital/Medical Staff Committees such as Safety, Quality, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Emergency Department and Infection Control.

Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Current Vermont RN license in good standing; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or current matriculation; Five years nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical or Emergency Department setting with demonstrated leadership ability and skills; Previous supervisory or management experience preferred; BLS, ACLS required; Current PALS and TNCC certification, or ability to attain within 12 months of hire; Computer skills and experience with using an electronic medical record essential; Excellent customer service skills; Strong team player.

CT/RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

Job Summary:  Go beyond patient care, providing exemplary service to both our internal and external customers.  Employee will plan, organize, and accomplish activities in the Imaging Department according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal law.  Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing high quality CT and Radiographic studies.  Review physician orders and exercise great attention to detail.  Actively participate in quality improvement projects within the department.  Maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to strict policies and procedures.

 Requirements:  Working knowledge of PACS; CT Certification; ARRT; VT State License; BLS certified; ability to collaborate with clinical support staff, physicians and other health care professionals as part of a team-based, patient-centered care approach.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Summary: Ensures the efficient and safe operation of the facility’s mechanical, environmental and security/fire systems.  Provides general facility maintenance and upkeep of campus and buildings. Additional duties: maintains and makes small repairs to various equipment; conducts required inspections and recordkeeping; maintains and repairs furniture and basic equipment; power equipment; snow removal; stowing of heavy deliveries; plumbing, septic, water maintenance.  This does not include a full listing of responsibilities.  Other duties as required.

Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years previous experience.  Basic carpentry, mechanical and environmental systems skills.  Ability to take calls on nights and weekends.  Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.

HOSPITAL UNIT SECRETARY

Part-time: 12 hours per week/Days OR Per Diem

Job Responsibilities: Performs receptionist duties for the Inpatient Care Unit and Emergency Department (ED), greeting patients and visitors arriving at the Hospital. Alerts the ED RN of patients presenting for emergency care. Registers ED patients and new admissions to the Inpatient Unit following approved Hospital procedures, obtaining required information and consent for treatment. Functions as clerical support for the Inpatient Unit and ED.

Requirements: Candidates must be detail oriented and able to multitask. Strong computer skills and excellent customer service skills a must. Knowledge of medical terminology a plus. Previous healthcare experience preferred.

RETAIL PHARMACY TECH

We currently seek a Full Time Pharmacy Tech for our Messenger Valley Pharmacy. Days with flexibility to work weekends.

Requirements: CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) preferred, but will train. Ability to run cash register; must be courteous and dependable. Previous experience a plus. Required to register with Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities: Pharmacy Technician needed at Messenger Valley Pharmacy to provide excellent customer service; assist Pharmacist in the daily operations of retail pharmacy.
